| The
Fyvie Avenue house occupies what was the lower garden of
an established Tawa hillside property.
This infill dwelling exploits its native
tree setting and enjoys excellent sun and views without
intrusion by or on neighbours. Designer Michael Bennington-Barr
explains the design concept as a simple main volume which
divides the site along the contour, proving opportunities
to open onto private outdoor space on two levels.
Corner glazing spanning two storeys further
accentuates the sense of connection with outdoors from the
spacious upper floor living rooms.
