Thanks to newly installed solar panels, the owners of Saddle Hill house have been classed as a power station by their power company.

Our Energy pays the family around 12c a unit of electricity for surplus power. They use gas for cooking and heat the house with an efficient woodstove and a SoHo Ventpac that distributes warm air to cooler rooms. Last month, the company paid them $20 for their surplus power.

Our Energy focuses on making community driven energy affordable, based on collections of small ‘power stations’ that generate and share the energy.
